File this one under songs to play in summer loudly. Nati Dreddd is a Scottish singer-songwriter who is getting comfortable with herself as she gets older. That’s the topic of her latest single ‘Older’ where she learns to embrace herself and tell her younger self that getting older is scary but it’ll be alright. The track itself is an uptempo, rumbling folk-rock anthem that infuses energy into anyone who listens to it. It’s a bit poppier than my usual folk-rock tastes but it has such an undeniable “fuck em, you do you” message that I can’t help but enjoy it. The middle eight is also the stuff of Scottish pub chants too.
