Introducing… Elias Bendix

Danish singer and songwriter Elias Bendix has spent much of his life studying music around the world. His studies have taken him to Spain, Argentina and most recently Ethiopia. This has led Elias to think about his school days and the impact music had on him in his formative years. ‘Fluid’ is his new single which is all about capturing the feeling of discovering a new favourite band. Elias says:

“When I encounter new music that really captures me, I can experience moments where I feel completely fluid, melted and in a kind of carefree trance. I remember having many such experiences, especially in boarding school. It was an exciting and inspiring time for which I am very grateful.”

Elias Bendix started his music in the jazz and funk pop world but over the last 18 months, he has moved towards indie-pop. ‘Fluid’ is an excellent single – particularly the final minute. There is a moment where it’s just Elias’ voice layered like he has hit a moment of clarity or elation and then the song rises up the guitar chords like fizzing champagne. The track is a great slice of indie pop but if you knew of his jazzier/funkier roots, Elias has recorded a live version of the track replacing most of the guitars with brass.
