Spinning musical plates from the alternative, classical, and experimental worlds, Mifarma marks her English-language debut with the new single ‘Somnambulist’. The ethereal piano and disembodied vocals float around the speakers, evoking a haunting disconnect between reality and mental thought. The track is a meditation on the hidden parts of your subconscious that only emerge when no one else is around. I clicked with the track immediately due to its eerie beauty, which transitions into something more cinematic in the final third.
Having released music in Hebrew for over a decade, the switch to English marks a new chapter for Mifarma. It’s the second single produced in collaboration with Carmen Rizzo, whose previously produced for Alanis Morissette. The song itself is composed by Ella Joy Meir. I assume this will culminate in an EP or LP, but no formal announcements have been made yet.
