2 Meter Sessions has released their full 1996 radio performance of Tori Amos. Diehard fans of Tori love this performance for its passionate performances of ‘Doughnut Song’, a piano top tapping ‘Caught A Lite Sneeze’, and for its rare performances of ‘This Old Man’ and ‘Horses’ mashed up with ‘Fool On The Hill’.
This performance now contains video footage of ‘Muhammad My Friend’, ‘Doughnut Song’ and ‘Apollo’s Frock’ for the first time. The latter track is teased here in improvisation form before it became the epic track for Scarlet’s Hidden Treasures some eight years later. I believe the audio for this may have been on bootlegs previously, but it’s new to me, and I’ve never heard the 2 Meter Sessions in such high quality before. It is wonderful to uncover new footage from a favourite artist of yours nearly 30 years later, so enjoy a Boys For Pele era performance from our flame-haired musical pioneer, finally in broadcast-quality footage.
