Montreal-based artist Telehorn (aka Jabob Vanderham) celebrated the first anniversary of releasing his debut album yesterday by launching a lush music video for his single ‘Almost Lost’. The track is the finale on ‘The Gravity of See You Later’, merging pop-rock sensibilities with buoyant strings and a 90s alternative groove. The album itself fits firmly in the alt-pop world, with Telehorn citing Beck, Prince, Joni Mitchell and Radiohead as influences. I can definitely hear Beck, in particular his ‘Morning Phase’ album, here.
Speaking about the music video and the track, Telehorn said:
I wanted this video to live in a timeless landscape. Our director, Jasen Loughlin, pitched the idea of shooting on location at a remote lake in the Eastern Townships, and it felt like the perfect match—nothing but trees, sun, and water. Spending too much time in the city can dim my connection to the natural world, and this video became a kind of response to that—a return to nature as a space of emotional and spiritual freedom. The song speaks to the intentional use of psychedelics as a way to transcend our hardened inner landscapes. I hope viewers can catch a little contact high from the video and let their imaginations wander.
Enjoy the music video and single, which are obviously… out now! You can find out more on Telehorn’s website, where you can also follow him on your preferred social media. He has been working with the art rock band Rapallo recently, creating a 3-track EP of yacht-rock. Not one to sit still, Telehorn should appeal to eclectic music fans.
