I love niche topics, and this is certainly one of them! Bandwiches is a Facebook group for musicians to post pictures of the food they’ve been served or given behind the scenes. If you think bands are having slap-up meals before they go on stage, you are in for a nasty awakening. From grip slop on a plate to greasy spoon chips, this is a roadie’s munch stop. The group’s hashtag, #TIASTFU, is presumably a reference to either being short-changed or the age-old “we can’t pay you, but we can feed you” that crops up when playing grassroots gigs. I’ve not seen a salad yet, but I have seen a meal deal.
If you’re a musician and still find Rate My Plate amusing, try out Bandwiches. It’s private, so you won’t be able to see what’s behind the curtain until you order…
