Mikaela Davis merges the harp and country rock for forthcoming album ‘Graceland Way’

You'll be glissed out with Mikaela's new single.

Singer-Songwriter and harpist Mikaela Davis has been moving from chamber pop to country rock over her last few releases. Each album or collaboration has seen her embrace the 70’s era of country and psychedelic-tinged rock further. Today Mikaela announced her new album ‘Graceland Way’ will be arriving on 24th April, and that the lead single will leave you glissed out.

‘(Looking Through) Rose Coloured Glasses’ is a vibrant rock track that feels just as at home in 1973 as it does in 2026. Davis uses harp glissandos in place of guitar solos and tape effects to simulate trippy rewind effects. When layering the harp into a dense country-tinged track, it really stands out as something you rarely hear. The single itself is very radio-friendly and should do well for road trip mixtapes. There are enough trippy harp effects to keep me more than entertained, and Mikaela Davis knows not to oversell the vibe either. Everything feels easy and flowing, like a harp strum of consciousness.

Writing about the album in her newsletter, Mikaela says:

This album was born in the hills of Glendale, California on a dead end street high above Chevy Chase Canyon, where the coyotes howl and Bubu the cat roams free. John Shannon and I spent many moons exploring the stories that have shaped my life, creating a few of our own, and finding the thread that ties us all together.

The single is out now. For more information about the album and expected tour dates, visit Mikaela Davis’ website.
