Introducing… O’Phantom

A rising Yorkshire alternative rock collective.

O’Phantom are a Yorkshire-based quintet that creates art rock. Their style flits and flips from single to single, but that’s what makes them a compelling listen. Whilst there is always a rustic edge and propulsion to their style of rock, you’ll hear a mixture of voices and moods across their discography to date.

‘Something (I Know)’ was released last year and features guest vocalist Lucy from Dead Naked Hippies. The jangling guitars are backed by watery keyboard synths to create a psychedelic shimmer. The vocals are heavily processed to sound like they are breaking through that watery shimmer, too. We get a downplayed guitar-led bridge, and things sound delightfully mid 90’s towards the end. If you enjoy the MTV alternative era of rock, you’ll be at home here.

I wish I could write more, but info about the band is scarce! Chalk this discovery up to one of my random deep delves into music tags online. It really does work, and this is how I discover new music on social media and music websites. That will help me discover your music, but nothing beats having a proper bio on your own website to help me understand more about your artistry.

O’Phantom has released a clutch of singles across the last two years, so hopefully an EP or LP is on the way soon. To keep up to date with the Yorkshire collective, visit O’Phantom’s website or follow them on Bandcamp.
