Inspirations of Music: Evelyn Glennie

Evelyn Glennie has enjoyed a magnificent career as one of the world’s leading percussive players and yet she very rarely talks about the fact that she is as she calls it “so called deaf”. In a beautiful TED talk, she talks about different ways of experiencing listening through sound vibrations and how people can feel sound and use it as a way to feel alive. It’s fascinating and insightful.

This is the first in a new series for Higher Plain Music to help give other musicians inspiration.
