Loreena McKennitt releases first track in 11 years

Celtic and world music tinged songstress Loreena McKennitt releases her first original song in 11 years and it’s like she’s never been away. “Breaking the Sword” is a piano and and ambient string based ballad sung from a mothers perspective of losing a son to war. It’s a track to commemorate Remembrance Day with proceeds from Canadian digital sales going towards the Canadian Armed Forces Support Our Troops fund. It really does whet my appetite for a new album from her though – she’s become Kate Bush like!
