Today is International Women’s Day and so if I think about inspirations in music, one of them is Juana Molina, who transitioned from Argentina prime time comedienne to alternative abstract rock star with her unique vocal looping and cyclic song styles. She is an unusual force in music as she rarely repeats herself and doesn’t conform to the usual musical structures so I wanted to share this in-depth interview about her recording process for Halo – where she tried to write more standard songs and freaked out!
