Foxtrott (Montreal based Marie-Hélène L. Delorme) releases her first EP via the excellent and quirky One Little Indian record label and it’s the first of a three-part series. Titled “Meditations I-III”, FOXTROTT’s thick percussive beats and otherworldly synths smash together to create catchy, but off-kilter songs. The collection comes after her 2015 debut album A Taller Us was born out of coping with anxiety and so now FOXTROTT feels more at ease with her situation, these three EP’s are a way of writing and coping with the growth that’s come after that period.
The whole of Meditations I is available on YouTube to enjoy and is out now before the whole trilogy is released as a collection on the 12th October. I’ve placed the whole EP below as a way of a sampler. The second track is the most accessible and immediate track. It’s called “Wait” and mixed a chilled out vibe with something a bit more alien.
