RUEN (Rhiannon Mair) has up until recently been a producer for the likes of Laura Marling, Emma McGarth and a personal favourite of mine Bryde. Now she is stepping out as her own artist and bringing her brand of crunchy, anthemic rock to the masses. There’s plenty on show with her second single “What I Need” as it showcases RUEN’s excellent rock vocals and her production chops to make something chunky and epic to shout to. Hopefully, there will be news of an EP or LP release soon as I feel like we have potentially another creative individual to add to the UK’s pantheon of Women Who Rock. It’s also nice to see Margate represented by something other than miserable teenage boys!
