Introducing… Sara Forslund

Sara Forslund

Swedish artist Sara Forslund is releasing her second album next month. The indie-folk singer/songwriter has a really delicate and subtle mood that has a sprinkling of witchiness to it – reminding me a little of Wendy Rule or a more laid back Jesca Hoop. Sara has a real intimacy to her music and with her new album “Summer Is Like A Swallow” due out 9th November, it sounds like it will be perfect for a warm fire and a glass of your finest. Inspired by nature metaphors and poetry, Sara Forslund also engages with Fair Trade Music as she explains its taken 2 years to raise the funds to record and release the album. One million records sold used to provide 40,000 USD but now one million streams brings in 45 USD.  I think that shows why I, as Higher Plain Music, also support and want to celebrate independent and smaller artists that are supremely talented too.

Enjoy the music video for the single “Hard” below. Higher Plain Music will be reviewing the album on release.
