Imogen Heap shares tracks for her upcoming Harry Potter score

Adapting music from stage to album soundtrack is a tricky business and since she’s already had to create 100 musical moments for the stage performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (the stage play), Imogen Heap has merged it all together to a soundtrack album. Entitled “The Music of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts 1 and 2”, the album’s arranged into four suites and will be released on 2nd of November. Two tracks are available to preview. The first is Station 9 3/4’s which is an instrumental orchestrally bulked out version of her own song “First Train Home” – but made as an instrumental with her backing vocals placed on it.

The second track is entirely original and more dramatic and tense. It featured marching drums, big cinematic synths and plenty of Imogen’s layered vocals hammering home the message of urgency and magical mystery. It’s pretty superb.

You can pre-order the album now.
