I’ve featured husband and wife duos on Higher Plain Music before but today I’ve discovered the first Husband-husband duo that I want to share with you all. Soft People are an indie pop duo that originally was part of a larger band, dated, married and now are recording their own material. Caleb and John’s lead single for hopefully their second album, following on from their debut last year, is called “The Absolute Boy” and deals with PTSD from child abuse. The lyrics are utterly devastating and yet the track itself has a fluidity and catchiness to it that makes me think of a modern day The Cure where off the wall subjects are dealt with alongside catchy riffs and disarming melodies. I love the bridge especially.
