American band Tamaryn have been one of my go-to bands over the past few years to enjoy that lush early 90’s rubbery guitar style of rock that Cocteau Twins embraced during their time. Tamaryn takes that and adds a smattering more angst and rock to the formula. Returning with their third album entitled ‘Dreaming the Dark’ due out on the 22nd of March, this sounds like more of the same which is no bad thing. The vocals have an Elizabeth Fraser breathiness to them which only helps sell the siren-like rock sound.
Lead single is called ‘Fits of Rage’ and it has some excellent thick beats, soaring vocals and lush dreamy guitar reverb. Go for an audio swim in it and enjoy the single below.
