Gracie and Rachel release music video as part of the Silver Sound Showdown

Chamber pop duo in music video contest

As a huge fan of Gracie and Rachel and their self titled album released last year, I was excited to see a new music video for one of the songs from it entitled ‘Upside Down’. It’s a song that showcases Gracie and Rachel’s brand of cinematic pop-folk full of taut strings and and big dramatic chord progressions.

The music video is part of a fascinating event called Silver Sound Showdown which takes place at Brooklyn Bowl, America. Two events take place. The first is a battle of the bands style live show, the second is a music video festival. 25 music videos compete for a chance to win. The idea is the winning director of the music video is then paired with the winner of the band battle and is given around $10,000 budget and a music video produced by Silver Sound. It sounds like quite the exciting event and pretty ingenious to me. The event kicks off today.

Enjoy the music video for ‘Upside Down’ by Gracie and Rachel below. The album, also called Gracie and Rachel is out now.
