Georgia returns with the best 80’s throwback in years

New dance moves for the angst

Georgia’s debut album contained some really interesting electronica that over the years since its release grew on me to become a real powerhouse of an album. It was full of different shades of music – albeit grounded in synths and beats. I had completely missed it personally, but at the end of March Georgia released a new single ‘About Work The Dancefloor’. It is some of the best synth-pop I’ve heard in ages.

The single has a perfect mix of catchy motifs and hints of darker tones that permeated her debut. It’s definitely more commercially straight forward, but its also not squarely pop either. I approve. Georgia is currently on tour but hopefully, after that’s over, she’ll be working on her follow up album. Enjoy ‘About Work The Dancefloor’ below. The single is out now.
