Introducing… AVA

One Little Indians' Two Big Composers

AVA is the name for duo Anna Phoebe and Aisling Bouwer. Together they create modern classical soundscapes that revolve around their instruments of choice – the violin and the piano. The pair begun writing together in 2015 and next month see’s their debut album ‘Waves’ released on the 12th of July. Following in similar veins as contemporaries Nils Frahm, Manos Milonakis and a lot of music from Moderna Records’ stable – its not just piano and violin. Their new single ‘Resistance’ shows the scope of what AVA are looking to create. What starts out as a beautiful analogue melody quickly escalates into something with a beat and plenty of electronica elements buzzing around inside. It makes me very excited for the forthcoming album.

Enjoy the single ‘Resistance’ below, which features contemporary dance and darkened rooms in its artistic music video. The single is out now and the album follows next month.
