Belfast born singer/songwriter May Rosa is riding the wave of being on BBC Introducing… in Ulster and brings her own brand of electro-pop. There seems to be a resurgence of 80’s production nostalgia. I call it the Stranger Things effect and May Rosa certainly fits in that retrowave vibe. The reason why I really clicked with May Rosa was that her voice and melodies sound witchy. Her higher octaves really soar.
After her 2017 debut EP ‘Dancing in the Debris’, May Rosa has been quietly beavering away on new material. Her new single ‘Before I Knew (Summer)’ is out now across all platforms. I think fans of Bat For Lashes will absolutely lap this up. Enjoy the track below.
