Philipp Rumsch created his ensemble in 2015. Consisting of twelve artists from across Germany, the ensemble are gearing up for their new album ‘‘µ: of anxiety x discernment’ on the 24th of April.
Philipp wants to transfer the musical ideas from ambient, minimal and avant-pop into an orchestral arena. As a pianist and sound designer, his new album explores the complexity of angst. This means that the tracks will have angsty beats and electronics to surround the calm of the orchestral side or vice versa. I’m really intrigued to see how this all comes together and the new single ‘d3’ has enticed me,
Philipp Rumsche Ensemble worked with dummy heads with binaural microphones inside them to record the album in immersive stereo. If you are a fan of ASMR videos, you will have seen them about so this will be an album for the headphones. You can enjoy the new single ‘d3’ below which is out now.
