Dream folk fawn Eartheater has created a real oddity with her new single ‘Below The Clavicle’. Firstly, the instrumentation is luscious and full of strings, harps, flutes and guitars. There is a woodsy elven quality to the music that I absolutely love. Then Eartheater’s voice glides in over the top. She flicks between something loving and inviting and then yelps out impassioned hooks and motifs. At first, I was a little thrown off but after two listens, I adored it. It reminds me of when I first discovered Soap&Skin and she would suddenly scream or doing something esoterically dark.
‘Below The Clavicle’ is the first new release since her 2018 album ‘IRISIRI’ and should hopefully pave the way for a future EP or LP. The track is stunning and I think will fit the vibe of everyone who loves the quirky singer/songwriter side of the site that I often post about. Enjoy the track below – its out now.
