Live Vault – Kishi Bashi

Stripped down acoustic hour

The final of a trilogy of excellent live at home concerts this week from artists loved by Higher Plain Music comes from Kishi Bashi. Usually he plays live with a looping violin alongside guitars and drum loops so hearing him just with an acoustic guitar and his voice is a special treat. The Live At KEXP at Home session only contains five songs but the interview segments are lengthier than usual for series. Here Kishi Bashi discusses his latest album Omoiyari and about discovering Japanese and immigrant heritage.

Enjoy the beautiful concert below. Omoiyari was on Higher Plain Music’s top albums of 2019 coming in at number 3.
