Introducing… The High Water Marks

Evoking all things power pop

There has been a thirteen-year gap since the last album from The High Water Marks. The Norwegian quartet has returned with their brand of messy power pop with new album ‘Ecstasy Rhymes’. Led by front lady Hilarie Sidney, whose been in various bands since the mid-’90s, you can hear how well oiled and full of life the band are.

The new single ‘Can You’ shows off this messy style which I adore as it reminds me of the heydays of MTV in the ’90s of bands like The Breeders, Throwing Muses and most things Tanya Donelly related! It is taken from the upcoming album ‘Ecstasy Rhymes’ which is due out on the 20th of November. The single is out now and you can enjoy the music video below. I expect the album will receive high praise and High (Water) Marks from listeners alike. I’m sorry… I’ll let myself out…
