The Prince classic, made famous by Sinead O Connor (with the most famous music video tear ever) has now received a new cover from critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Sarah Walk. Off the back of her superb 2020 album ‘Another Me’, Sarah gives the ballad a sensitive and reflective rendition. Heavy on the mellow Wurlitzer, the track builds in typical Walk fashion to a hazy, tense and swirling brood.
Its a lovely rendition and you can enjoy it below. It’s out now for purchase and streaming. Now my appetite is whet for more Sarah Walk to come soon.
