Noise rockers Årabrot are duo Kjetil Nernes and Karin Park. Usually known for their post-punk style with grungy huge riffs and purposely skewed vocals. This time things are a little different. With Karin on vocals and a giant organ, ‘Hallucinational’ is their softest side. The live video is taken from their ‘Neo Depression’ performance which offers an acoustic slant on their heavier style. Having then dived into their music videos elsewhere, I’ve quickly grown to enjoy Årabrot and their rockier style too.
If you are after something that feels like Sarah Slean having a sad day, then enjoy the music video below. If you are after something a bit more like a Nordic Nirvana or Silverspoon band raging against the world, dive into any of their other videos! Honestly, Årabrot can do both ends of the spectrum fantastically and I could enjoy either version of themselves.
‘Hallucinational’ is taken from Årabrot’s forthcoming album ‘Norwegian Gothic’ which is due for release on the 9th of April.
