Electronic artist Lustmord has teamed up with Karin Park from Årabrot (who I only discovered in March) to create a dark and ethereal collaboration. The latest single of this collaboration is ‘Hiraeth’ and is it spellbinding. From Karin’s powerful and enchanting voice comes something guttural and primal – with a mother natures touch to it too. Lustmord brings his synths and creates a spooky atmosphere that envelopes the listener like a shroud. Think The Knife crossed with Lisa Gerrard and you are part way there.
‘Hiraeth’ is the opening track for Lustmord and Karin Park’s forthcoming album ‘Alter’. The album is due for release on the 25th of June. From the sounds of it, we’re in for a primal and hypnotic experience that is sure to make a splash on my personal best of 2021 list.
