Ireland’s Fya Fox is hotly tipped to make a splash in 2021 with her sultry smooth alt-pop style. Fya’s voice has a huge range as she is classically trained. She sights her influences as Lana Del Ray, London Grammar and Banks and she has that cinematic pop scale to her music. Her latest single ‘Sunset’ discusses the thought of meeting up with everyone again in the afterlife. The topic lends itself well to sweeping synths, chilled out guitar motifs and powerful vocals.
One curious thing I’ve noticed is how short and concise Fya Fox is with her music. Her previous song ‘Body’ barely hits two minutes and this is two and half. Yet, like Mitski, Fox’s works feel fleshed out and satisfying. Trimming the fat and keeping the best pop about, Fya Fox’s new single ‘Sunset’ out now. No news of an EP or LP yet but enjoy the track below.
