classical composer Introducing... modern classical piano strings

Introducing… Meredi

Finding classical piano inspiration from a different genre

German pianist Meredi has an interesting influence on her classical music – the Berlin club scene. She found the trance inducing synths hypnotic and wanted to bring that kind of feeling to her piano compositions. This has led her towards her new single ‘Watching You Fall’. It takes a simple motif and then gently switches something about it over time. Whilst sounding lightyears away from the club scene, I can hear the influence of synth arpeggios distantly calling out. The piano is backed with emotive and yearning strings that slowly build up over the track too, bringing gravitas and grandeur.

‘Watching You Fall’ is the lead single from Meredi’s forthcoming album ‘Trance’. ‘Trance’ is due for release on the 8th of August. You can enjoy the lovely music video for the track below. You can find out more about Meredi and her piano on her website.
