Introducing… allie

Rocking on self discovery.

allie’s first single ‘ETYG’ from their forthcoming debut album is a real earworm. Subtle guitar riffs that wax and wane over complex production values and indie rock vocals all come together beautifully. It’s a mix of indie rock, alternative rock fuelled by personal discovery. Initially a drummer for the band Cavetown, allie released their first EP ‘Junior Coders Experiment’ last year. allie says that releasing the music under the allie moniker helped them discover more about their gender. Now a year further down that discovery path, the music reflects that personal upheaval and shift.

The album was largely recorded with the help of allie’s brother and they jokingly call it ‘guest bedroom pop’. However, just one listen to the slick indie vibes of ‘ETYG’ and you’ll realise this isn’t a lo-fi effort. A lot of detail and craft has gone into the homebrew music and the results speak for themselves. Enjoy ‘ETYG’ below. allie’s debut album ‘Next Time Around’ is due out on 27th August. You can follow allie over at Other People Records.
