Introducing… Cat Dowling

Irish acoustic rock with bite to it.

Irish singer-songwriter Cat Dowling comes from the school of indie rock and women with hard knocks. Falling somewhere between Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Lorde and Daughter, Cat Dowling provides catchy riffs and hooks that cross over indie rock and pop. Big chunky drums, full-bodied acoustic guitars and a voice that can flip from hushed and dramatic in an instant, I’m really enjoying her new single ‘Freedom’.

‘Freedom’ was written after Cat Dowling gave birth to her second child. Cat found the days of bonding and looking after her newborn as freedom days because they lacked the corporate structure and plans. Instead, she could focus on being the mum she wanted to be. It’s an uplifting thought and that carries through into the music. Cat Dowling first released music back in 2013 and has been steadily building up a fan base in Ireland since. Enjoy the single ‘Freedom’ below. It’s the second single from Cat’s forthcoming new album expected to be ready for Autumn 2021.
