Introducing… Indigo Birds

indie rockers giving you riffs, rhythms and existential dread.

Indigo Birds hail from Paris and Normandy and create a wonderfully eclectic mixture of rock with added synth production. By this I mean the drums are treated with electronic production tweaks and there are synths hiding everywhere. Whilst this is definitely an indie rock quartet, the guitars, vocals and overall feel pushes beyond chugging strings and to something more electronica based. Similar bands I’ve personally fallen in love with would be Clock Opera and Duologue. When a band gets that world-weary misery spot on with guitars and synths, I’m a happy man and Indigo Birds do just that for me.

Indigo Birds have been working on their album for several years and their new single ‘Burned’ is a culmination of their direction and artistry. The song is about watching everything falling apart around you but you are stuck paralysed in fear or resignation to your fate. The band describe it as a dark and melodic track and I have to agree. Enjoy the excellent music video for ‘Burned’ below where Gary the car seems to take on a life of its own…

‘Burned’ is out now but will also be on Indigo Birds forthcoming debut album ‘The Influence of Loneliness. The album is currently scheduled for a January 2022 release. Keep up with the gang on Instagram.
