Introducing… Saint Mars

A guilty pleasure of sad synthwave pop

If I’m going to embrace extremely dramatic synthwave music that could have been made in 1986 or 2021, then I’m going in full blast. That’s exactly how I feel about Saint Mars and their new single ‘The Last Dream Ever Made’. It has a mature and flamboyant mix of synthwave music that means it could be easily on Eurovision or on great taste synthwave radio station and feel right in both. I’m not sure how Saint Mars did it but I’m delighted he did. Vocally and musically I am reminded of Måns Zelmerlöw but with an emo twist.

Saint Mars are a collective spread out across the US, UK and Switzerland and whilst their music will vary depending on who is leading on each track, I absolutely love this track. The vocalist is 16-year-old Tryzdin whose also made a name for himself online separately with his own music too. I’m not entirely sure where Saint Mars will head musically from here but enjoy the belter below. More of this, please!
