We aren’t in Kansas anymore Dorothy… or are we? Hembree are an indie rock band that hails from there and their brand of peppy upbeat catchy rock caught my attention on the very first listen. Their new single “Close to Me” has a timeless euphoria to it from the driving guitars and drums to the falsetto layered backing vocals. It just beams happiness and radiates energy throughout. The single is the third track from their forthcoming sophomore album “It’s A Dream” which is due for release on the 4th of February.
When speaking of the album, frontman Issac Flynn said “I want this record to lift people up, and for the music to be a positive experience in their own lives. Close to Me – it’s a love song through and through with a narrative based in companionship. It’s about devotion to whoever is down to pull you out of the dark, and get you through the strange times and all of life’s struggles — that could be a partner, friend or even your dog.”
Enjoy the single below – it is out now. You can preorder the album on Hembree’s webstore.
