Canadian artist Sara-Danielle describes her music as “ginger soul”! That’s super cute and I hope it catches on as a genre but for now, it’s a mixture of synth-pop, soul and R&B. Her new single “Away From You” is extremely catchy. It has a shuffling beat that brings out the smooth R&B rhythms with an indie grizzle to it. That grizzle is backed up with plucked muted guitar riffs and some quirky synth work. Add on some beautiful vocal harmonies and melodies and you have a real earworm.
“Away From You” is a song about broken relationships and exploring whether they can be healed. Sara-Danielle says “It’s about love, honesty, mistakes and forgiveness.” The single is taken from Sara-Danielle’s sophomore EP titled “Another Self” which is due for release on 1st April 2022. Enjoy the music video below and “Away From You” is out now.
