The synthwave revolution continues to produce new and interesting artists and groups and with Stranger Things promoting darker, creepy synthwave, this genre is having a boom. Minimal Schlager are a London and Berlin based duo gearing up for their debut album. They mix the cold, harsh realities of German industrial electronica with ethereal wispy vocals. Add in some tape-chewed synths and a bassline designed for a dancehall and you have “Forbidden Fruit”, their new single.
The brother/sister duo said “We wrote Forbidden Fruit after I finished reading Blood Wedding, Garcia Lorca’s Greek tragedy, and I was amazed by the brutality and irrationality in passion. Forbidden Fruit is a song that has no time and space, it’s a drama of human aspiration, struggle and ultimate failure.” A great subject to get your groove on to then! The single is out now with an excellent comic music video below. It is taken from their forthcoming debut album “Love, Sex & Dreams” which is currently scheduled for release on the 9th of September 2022.
