Introducing… Heartracer

Tears For Duran: Synthwave Rock Edition

Sometimes hearing a song in a certain mood hits differently and that is the case with Heartracer. It is a boiling hot summer’s day in the UK and their new single “Edge of My Heart” is the perfect mix of pop, EDM, synthwave and indie rock. The chords and big and chunky, the vocals processed to within an inch of their 1988 life, the keyboards and bold and the drums stolen from a sound machine. It’s been a while coming for Heartracer, who last released an album back in 2013. The band is named after member Chris’s tachycardia condition – a disorder that makes the heart beat faster at random intervals. The single itself is an optimistic one from a place of misunderstanding in love.

If you are a fan of yesteryear pop anthems from the likes of Tears for Fears, A-ha and Duran Duran’s edgier side, then you’ll enjoy Heartracer. Their forthcoming album “The Feel” doesn’t have a release date yet but if it isn’t going to be a late summer album for 2022, we have something ready for the sunshine in 2023. Enjoy the single “Edge of My Heart” below, it is out now.
