Izzy S.O is a feisty new singer-songwriter who brings all the best traits from the indie rock genre together into heartfelt anthems. Expect big guitars, wide-panned and layered vocals that power through and big drums to nod-mosh to. ‘Can You Hear Me’ is the closing track from her forthcoming debut EP of the same name which came out earlier this year. The EP has an anarchic rock edge but the main push is the overarching tone of choosing yourself over others. On this title track specifically, Izzy S.O said that the song and the music video were inspired by a mad relationship she was in. Instead of choosing murky toxicity and feeling shackled, she chose herself and went for freedom. I recommend the EP too.
Enjoy the music video below which features the actor Alexander Arnold (Skins) but more importantly, there is a lot of croissant ripping and squashing. Don’t take this pair to a continental breakfast! ‘Can You Hear Me’ is out now. For more information on all things Izzy S.O visit her YouTube.
