Damascan Daydreams is the artist name for Eman Tiba, a singer-songwriter who specialises in dark pop with electronic undertones. It’s the mixture of cultures and ideas that drew me into Damascan Daydreams though as Tiba took up keyboards and tabla to write music after college. You can hear the rhythmic freedom that tablas give you in her craft and that allows her to create dark pop for the dancefloor that doesn’t conform to a standard thump-thump kick beat. She released her first EP ‘Where Have You Been’ in 2020.
Kicking off a new era ahead of a forthcoming EP coming later in 2023 (hopefully) is the track ‘Crown of Gold’. It is like a Bangla gothic dance with a shade of Huski electronica thrown in. The track is out now and to keep tabs on all things Damascan Daydreams, follow her on TikTok.
