Swedish post-punk duo LOW-RES create pop-rock anthems influenced by 90’s ambient guitar and plenty of analogue synths. On one hand, you have a rustic raw rock edge where the guitars and vocals are spitting angst and drama at you. On the other hand, you’ve got cascades of synths about light fireworks that kick off a party. Think darkwave surrounded by glitter balls and that’s where LOW-RES reside. The duo made their debut in 2021 with ‘Varför’ – an album featuring guest vocalists and an expansive cheeseboard of rock. Their forthcoming album ‘Därför’ will feature more of the same. They’ll be released as a bundle too as LOW-RES considers them sister albums.
Johan Hinders from Audionom guests on their new single ‘Stigma’ and they didn’t even know what Johan was bringing along to the collaboration until they heard the song for the first time in the control room. Johan arrived with lyrics on a piece of paper, performed it there and then and the rest was history! LOW-RES knew they had a cracking track in their hands. I also love how the band describe their music.
We have a lot of fun making music and it works as an antidepressant. We just heard the term ‘Art Therapy’ and that pretty much sums up why we do this.
