Introducing… Lobsterbomb

Channelling the joy of emergent Spring, this glam-punk trio will bring you energy and joy

Lobsterbomb is a Berlin glam-punk band that was formed through an Instagram post. The band Gurr set up a notice board to allow others to connect and form a band. Nico Rosch, Vik Chi and Crayon Jones had connected through the pandemic and began writing music based on their own lived experiences. With the world opening back up again, they are now enjoying building towards their debut album ‘Look Out’ which is due out on the 21st of July.

Their latest single from the album is ‘RUN’, a short two-minute chaotic explosion that leans into their punk side. The vocals are distinctly atonal at times but then come back for the rousing chorus. The song channels that moment when Lobsterbomb were able to get back outside again as Spring sprung in Berlin. Speaking about the single ‘RUN’, Nico said:

We had been cooped up inside avoiding the Berlin winter for too long, so as soon the first rays of the sun started to appear we wanted to make something with a more upbeat, summery vibe. The song is about new beginnings and it was a bit of a musical new beginning for us – moving into a more sweeping, spacious and synthy pop sound. We had to fight our instincts a little and learn to let go from thrashing guitars but we really came to be comfortable [with] where that freedom led us.
