Introducing… Hands of the Heron

Sumptuous vocal harmonies are the bedrock of this alt-folk trio.

Hands of the Heron are an alt-folk trio that specialises in vocal harmonies. Whilst the Bristol-based ladies happily add in guitars, flute, banjo, accordions and percussion to their music, everything is centred around their vocal harmonies. Bec and Bethany, two-thirds of the band, also run the superb Cuculi Records, whom I’m a fan of too. Joined by Claire, the trio can gracefully move from choral folk arrangement to chamber folk in a breeze.

Whilst their last release was back in 2021, with their second album ‘13 Moons‘, Hands of the Heron are performing at various festivals across the UK this summer. Follow them over on Instagram to see where they’ll be popping up and enjoy a superb live rendition of their track ‘Half Moon Horizon’ below. Fans of This Is The Kit and all their various solo and group efforts will love this.
