Introducing… Vegyn

Early 90s electronica grooves and symphonic string section evoke dance nostalgia

Fancy some proper vintage electronica with early 90s grooves that nod towards Jungle, Drum N Bass and iDents from a radio station we’ve never heard of? Welcome to Vegyn. The producer and songwriter has come off of making two mixtape releases with over 70 tracks on each but this sees him returning to his songwriting roots. ‘Halo Flip’ struck a chord with me because its nostalgic beats are drenched in some beautiful strings that build and ooze over the mix like honey. As the drums fade, the strings and soft bell synths remain making the track sound rich and symphonic. Lauren Auder’s vocals are lent for radio iDent’s that punctuate the track too as if we are making our own radio station which is a nice touch too.

Whilst we aren’t sure of a new EP or LP, ‘Halo Flip’ is out now and has a fuzzed-out VHS tape styled music video which adds to the nostalgic charm. Vegyn is touring various states in America across December. For more information on all things Vegyn, choose your platform of choice from his Linktree.
