Well, they that Boise can be boisterous and Plum Vision brings their brand of chaos to our ears with their new single ‘Number One’. The trio bring angry, sassy and powerfully shambolic riot energy that channels riot grrrl on steroids. The single is a heady neverending twist of punk rock chords with a late 70s lo-fi punk production. Jangly guitars are muddied and I’m reminded of Nirvana’s ‘Bleach’ album. Add in some squeals and screams and you have two minutes of defiance and drama.
The rough and tumble single is the third from Plum Vision’s forthcoming debut album ‘See U Later, Goodbye’. The album will be the first time the band has really worked together intentionally to write tracks. Guitarist Kiyah describes their previous work as like writing on patchwork as the guitar jams would come first with the bass and drums arriving later to flesh out fully written tracks. For the album, they wrote and shared ideas as a trio and Plum Vision feels it has given them a consistent and unique voice.
Enjoy the blazing empowerment among the shambles with ‘Number One’ below. The single is out now. For more information on all things Plum Vision, follow them on Bandcamp. You’ll be able to grab the album when it is released later this year.
