Live Vault – Kiasmos

Kiasmos is what happens when two masters of their own genres combine forces to explore the space in between them. Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen are known for their acoustic piano-based soundscapes and synth-heavy electro-pop respectively. With Kiasmos they join forces to create an ambient electronica sound that moves between majestically emotive to euphorically techno. Their latest album ‘II’ came out this year and I’ll be giving it a glowing review soon.

It is fitting them that Kiasmos performed for Cercle at the Citadlle de Sisteron in France. Cercle creates some of the most stunning live performances recorded, merging the live acts with the stunning landscapes and architecture around them. They give an emotional feeling that very few other musical movements provide. Arnolds performed a solo set in 2023 for Cercle but this career-spanning concert is all Kiasmos.

Enjoy the lush and enriching performance below. Cercle’s channel is full of superb live performances, I recommend exploring it.
