Léonie Pernet is a French singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who is returning to music for her third album and her first new music since 2021. Often writing her lyrics as poems, Pernet found herself inspired to write a song of hope after feeling overwhelmed by the daily news of war and terror. ‘Réparer le monde’ wrestles with the idea of collective responsibility and how we can try to heal the world little by little. Sonically, the piano and chord progression has a curious tendril to it. Synths, drums and vocals slowly ramp up the tension for its roaring finale. It is one of those songs that sinks under your skin through the mood it sets first. The melody and rhythm come later to cement it in.
Mathieu Zazzo, a Paris-based photographer and director, created the music video. He creates a series called “One Face / One Song” where he captures someone listening to a special song in one take. For this video, Léonie Pernet listens to her own song alongside her wife Louise Chevillotte.
