Live Vault – Emiliana Torrini

Diving back to 2005, Emiliana Torrini had recently released her acoustic folk album ‘Fisherman’s Woman’. No album stays in the same genre for Torrini, so her tours are often quite different. For this tour, she was in a laid-back, acoustic mood. The hour-long set is largely tracks from that album, with a few acoustic reworkings of tracks from ‘Love In The Time Of Science’. That includes a fabulous rework of personal favourite ‘Tuna Fish’. Interspersed between songs are short tales about certain tracks. Whilst I could listen to Emiliana read the dictionary and be utterly entranced, it’s her cheeky and playful nature that shines through on stage.

Enjoy an intimate yet enthralling performance by Emiliana Torrini, ending with one of the sweetest live performances I’ve heard in recent memory of her track ‘Serenade’, which I used as background music for my step-brother’s wedding photos! Random tidbit of the day? Check.
