Frenchy and the Punk declares ‘War on War’

This is my protest song for 2026's madness.

Protest songs that galvanise rather than wither are few and far between, but Frenchy and the Punk have struck gold with their invigorating new single ‘War on War’. From its stomping huge beats, Scott Helland’s big guitar riffs, and its darkwave synths from the goth rock side of the moon, it’s an anthem for the frustrated. Central to its delivery is Samantha Stevenson’s powerful vocals. Confrontational and fed up with greedy bullshitters, her voice bellows and barks with aggression and poise.

Speaking about the song, Samantha says:

“This song is not only about war but also the deterioration of truth and destruction of progress. It’s the belief that the majority of people in this country and the world do not want to go backwards and do not want to see bloodshed.

It is the frustration that the few, fueled by greed and lust for power, who manipulate for their and their cronies’ advantage, cause such grief and destruction for the many.

It is a call to voice opposition to the chaos and insanity. It is a call for unity beyond borders.”

It’s a powerful track and available now on all platforms, as well as Bandcamp for purchase.

Frenchy and the Punk have been on my radar since their second album, ‘Midnight Garden’, flew into my recommendations in 2024. They are currently finishing off their third album, slated for release late in 2026, and will be on tour across the US in April and the UK in June! Visit Frenchy and the Punk’s website for more details. They make a hell of a noise for a duo!
