Introducing… Dana Margolin

We are getting on board the hype train for the debut song of London-based singer-songwriter Dana Margolin. Whilst previously creating art in many forms, Dana has turned her attention towards singer-songwriting. The debut track is called ‘Big Beautiful Sound’ and, oddly, it’s a song of distance, echoes, and sad folk sensibilities.

The thesis of the track is that collectively, we’ve gone down a giant spiral staircase into the Earth’s core. Nothing grows in the perma-darkness, and yet humanity actively chose to go there. It is a song that speaks of finding a glowing ember in the depths of hell and despair, like a big, beautiful sound, that just might kickstart your ascend back to humanity again. This is captured through tight, tender, yet bobbing acoustic guitar, some excellent vocal production that introduces a small choir of backing vocals for the chorus, and sympathetic strings and keyboards. Dana nails the indie folk on a reflective downer vibe perfectly.
